The Church Halls
The church halls complex is accessed from Green Street and has limited parking opposite or ample free parking only minutes away at the bottom of the street in the Green Street car park. The halls provide accommodation for a wide variety of church activities and are also available to other organisations and clubs for a modest charge.
The large hall has a small stage at one end and a new modern floor surface. Disabled access is available at the Green Street entrance and there is a Disabled Toilet available.
The small hall is around half the size of the large hall, and an interconnecting door means the two halls can be used as one unit.
The kitchen and toilet facilities lead off the small hall. The kitchen has a modern catering-quality gas cooker, double sink and plenty of workspace.

Tuesday Club
St John's Tuesday Club
In the early 1970’s, Babs Preston-Thomas, wife of the then incumbent at St John’s Forfar, The Rev. Canon Colin Preston-Thomas, held a meeting at the Rectory with various members of the Mother’s Union, the Guild and the Young Wives Group. These groups were in the throws of folding due to lack of numbers. It was decided to amalgamate all three groups and form a single group which would include both men and women. The club meets on a Tuesday evening - hence the name.
The Tuesday club was founded purely as a social group. The once-a-month meetings, from October to May, in the Green Street Halls, consist of concerts, demonstrations, slide shows and talks by speakers on various topics. Not all club members belong to St John’s Church. Some come from other churches in the town, while others in the group are not affiliated to any church at all. BUT ALL ARE WELCOME!
Outreach in the community is one of the aims of the club. The club supports the Forfar Disabled Club which meets in the Church hall. The club also participates in fund-raising, not only for St John’s but also for various charities, a different one being chosen each year.

Sewing Group
Sewing Group
We have occasional sewing days when as a group we make items to sell for good causes or to raise funds for the church. We also enjoy making gifts for people in the community.
Everyone is welcome to come along for a cup of tea and to see what we do.
